How to Manage Your LinkedIn Page

A LinkedIn Page is a marketing asset for a business of any size. They are free to set up and manage, and provide huge benefits for brand awareness, business development, talent recognition and recruiting,

A Page needs to be managed by an individual or team through their LinkedIn Profile.

Here are some of the considerations when it comes to Page management;

  • Every Page needs at least one admin to manage the Page. It is good to have more than one admin as a back up.
  • Your Page strategy; having clarity on the purpose and function.
  • Set up; Page features to be optimised and used.
  • Review;  How often Page content and set up are to be reviewed.
  • Management; Who will have admin access, what level (role) will they have and what will they be responsible for.
  • Activity; who will monitor engagement and manage responses.
  • A process to onboard and offboard administration of LinkedIn Pages (and other digital assets)
  • A process for creating, approving, scheduling and measuring performance of content.

LINKEDIN PAGE ADMIN

Page management is invisible to the consumer. Only current admins can see who the Page admins are, through admin access.

Who currently has the keys to your LinkedIn Page?

How to check if you have Admin Access;

  1. When a Page is viewed admin view is shown.
  2. The Page is in the My Pages panel on the left side of the LinkedIn feed.
  3. The Page is in the Me drop down menu, under Manage.

If you don’t see any Pages listed in either section, it means you currently don’t have admin access. Reach out to an existing admin and request access or request admin access via the Page (see instructions below).

ADMIN ROLES

LinkedIn Page management levels of access;

  • Super admin – The super admin role is automatically assigned to the creator of a Page.  This role manages everything on the Page. It’s the only role that can edit the Page and manage all Page and paid media admins
  • Content admin – This role posts and manages content, comments as the Page, responds to messages, and exports analytics.
  • Analyst – This role only views and exports analytics on LinkedIn and will have limited access on 3rd party partners tools.

Paid Media admin roles;

  • Sponsored Content poster – Permission to create Sponsored Content ads or to sponsor organic posts in Campaign Manager.  (Note: content admin role is able to boost organic posts directly on a Page).
  • Lead Gen Forms manager – Permission to download leads received from Lead Gen Forms created in Campaign Manager.
  • Landing Pages manager – Permission to create and edit Landing Pages, in Campaign Manager that are associated with your Page.

ADDING ADDITIONAL ADMINS

  2. Click Settings in the left menu and select Manage admins.
  3. Click the Page admins or Paid media admins tab.

  5. Enter the name of the member, associated employee, or advertiser you’d like to add in the Search for a member field.
  6. Select the admin’s name from the list that appears.
  7. Select the required admin role. Only one page admin role can be assigned per person, but more than one paid media admin role can be assigned.

Pre-requisites;

  • List your current position with the organisation in the Experience section of your profile.
